Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 September 2026

Who you are dealing with

These terms cover this website and any garage door work you ask us to do. "We" and "us" means Ahmed Al Shober, a sole trader registered under ABN 29 748 128 732 and trading as Perth Garage Doors Repairs, based in West Perth, Western Australia. By browsing the site, sending a quote request or booking a job you accept the terms below. They are written to be read, not skimmed, and they are short for that reason.

Quotes and how the price is set

A quote request costs nothing and there is no call-out fee. What you are told by phone, in the chat assistant or in reply to a form is an indication based on what you have described; the firm price is given once we have seen the door. That firm price is agreed with you before any work starts, and it does not change unless the job turns out to need something that could not be seen at the start, in which case we stop, explain, and only carry on if you agree to the revised figure. If you decline the price after the inspection you owe nothing.

After-hours and emergency work

We answer the phone around the clock, and work outside ordinary hours may carry an after-hours charge. If it does, we tell you the amount when you call and before a technician is sent out. If you would rather wait for a daytime slot, say so and the standard price applies.

Bookings, access and cancellations

A booking time is a window, not a minute. Traffic, an earlier job running long and genuine emergencies can move it, and we will ring or message you if we are running late. Please make sure someone over 18 can give us access to the garage and that vehicles and stored items are moved clear of the door. Where we arrive at the agreed time and cannot get in, we may charge for the wasted trip; we will always try to contact you first. You can cancel or move a booking at no cost by calling or texting us before the technician has left for your address.

Payment

When payment is due, and whether a deposit applies (for example on a new door made to size), is set out on your quote or invoice, along with the payment methods we accept. Parts we have supplied remain ours until they are paid for, and the GST position is shown on every written quote.

Parts, doors and manufacturers

Doors and openers we supply come with whatever the manufacturer provides for that product, on the manufacturer's own terms, and we will point you to those terms when we quote. We do not add a separate cover period of our own to that, and nothing on this website should be read as one. If a part we fitted fails, call us; how it is handled depends on the cause and on the manufacturer's position, and we will be straight with you about both.

Your rights under Australian law

Nothing in these terms takes away, limits or changes the consumer guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Services we provide must be carried out with due care and skill and be fit for the purpose you told us about, and goods we supply must be of acceptable quality and match their description. Where the law lets us limit our liability for a failure, our liability is limited to supplying the service or goods again, or paying the cost of having that done, at our choice.

Safety and things we will not do

Garage door springs and cables are under high tension and can cause serious injury. We will not carry out a repair that we believe leaves the door unsafe, will not bypass or disable a safety feature at a customer's request, and may decline work where the door or the site presents a risk we cannot manage. If a door is dangerous as found, we may disconnect or secure it and quote the proper fix rather than patch it.

Using this website

The articles, guides and chat replies on this site are general information written for Perth homeowners. They are not a substitute for having a technician look at your door, and you rely on them at your own risk. The text, photographs and design belong to us or to the manufacturers whose products are shown; you may link to any page, but please do not copy the content onto another site. Do not attempt to interfere with the site, flood its forms or chat, or use it to send material that is unlawful or abusive.

Limits on our liability for the website

We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not promise that it will be error-free or online at all times. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that arises from relying on the website itself, as distinct from work we have been engaged to do, and in any case we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. This clause does not affect any right the law says cannot be excluded.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page when you book is the one that applies to that job. These terms are governed by the law of WA, Australia, and any dispute is to be dealt with in the courts of that state.
