Superlift supplied and serviced
Quick Answer
We supply, install and service Superlift garage door motors across Perth. That means a new Superlift opener fitted to a roller, sectional or tilt door, or a repair to the Superlift unit already on your door, including older models still working in Perth garages. We look at the door before naming an opener, quote the job in writing and price it before we start, and there is no call-out fee. Vans cover every suburb north and south of the river from West Perth.
Superlift openers on Perth doors: what to know
Superlift makes garage door openers for the three door types found across Perth: a rail-drive unit for sectional and tilt doors, sold as the SDO series, and a side-mounted unit for roller doors, the RDO series. You will find them on sectional doors in the newer estates north and south of the river and just as often bolted to a roller door on a shed or a rear-lane garage. An optional Wi-Fi controller is available for the current sectional and roller models for anyone who wants phone control. If you are not set on the brand, how Superlift compares to our other opener brands is covered on the main motors page.
Openers of any brand fail for a short list of reasons. Age is the first: the motor, the drive gear and the circuit board all have a working life, and a unit that has opened the door several times a day for a decade is simply worn. A door that has gone heavy on tired springs makes the opener labour on every cycle and brings that day forward. Boards fail after power surges in summer storms. Remotes lose their coding or their batteries. And on the newer smart models, a good share of the calls are not the motor at all but the Wi-Fi link, the app, or a router that has changed since the opener was set up.
We do both sides of the job. For a new install we check the door's type, weight and balance, supply the Superlift unit that suits it, mount it, set the limits and force, fit the safety beams and pair every remote and the app before we leave; you can browse the opener range before we come out. For an existing Superlift, including the older units still running in Perth garages, we diagnose the fault on the driveway, carry common parts and remotes in the van, and tell you plainly when a repair is money well spent and when it is not.

Frequently Asked Questions
Superlift is an Australian opener brand rather than a door maker, so the question is really about its motors. In our work they sit at the practical end of the market: a straightforward sectional or roller unit, with an optional Wi-Fi controller on the current models, and spare parts and remotes are available for them. Like any opener, how long one lasts depends more on the door being balanced and serviced than on the badge. We supply, install and service them, and we repair the older units too.
Start with the simple checks. Make sure the opener has power: look for its light or display, and check the power point and the switchboard, since a tripped circuit after a storm is a common cause. Try the wall button; if that works and the remote does not, the remote battery or its coding is the problem. Check nothing is sitting across the safety beams and that their lenses are clean. If the motor hums or runs but the door does not move, or the door feels heavy when you pull the manual release, stop there: that points to the drive or the springs, and it is a job for us. Ring 0466 910 028 and we will come out, with no call-out fee.
We price it after seeing the door, because the answer turns on what is actually wrong. A remote, a set of safety beams or a limit adjustment is a small job. A drive gear or a circuit board is more, and on an older unit we put that figure beside the cost of a new Superlift so you can choose with both in front of you. A new opener is priced by the model and its features, plus removal of the old unit and any access issues. The quote is free, there is no call-out fee, and we price the job before we start.
On most Superlift openers you put the motor into learning mode with a button on the unit or its control panel, press the remote button you want to use, and wait for the indicator to confirm it has taken. The exact button and the number of presses vary between the SDO and RDO models and between versions of each, so check the label on your unit or its manual before you start. Our guide to programming a garage door remote walks through the general steps, and if the remote refuses to pair, or you have lost every remote for the door, we can code new ones on site.
Changing a remote battery, cleaning the safety beam lenses and checking the power point are fine to do yourself. Beyond that we would not recommend it. The unit is mounted overhead beside a door whose springs stay under load, a fault that looks electrical is often the door itself, and the force and travel settings and the safety beams have to be set so the door reverses off a person or a car. Getting those wrong is how people get hurt, so leave the opening-up to us.
A smart opener adds convenience, but it also adds things that can go wrong that a plain unit does not have. It depends on your home Wi-Fi reaching the garage, so a weak signal or a new router means the app stops working until it is set up again. App updates and account changes occasionally need the opener re-paired. And you are trusting the maker to keep the app running for the life of the motor. None of that stops the remotes or the wall button working, which is worth remembering: the door still opens the old way when the app does not.
Swapping a worn unit for a new Superlift on the same door usually takes us a few hours, remotes, beams and testing included. Automating a manual door for the first time takes longer, because the mounting, wiring and power have to be set up from scratch. Most repairs, whether a remote, beams, a limit reset or a drive part we carry, are done in the one visit. It runs longer if the door needs springs or rollers before an opener should go on it, or if there is no power point within reach; we tell you at the quote which of those applies to you.
