Garage Door Hinges Perth

Numbered sectional door hinges for Steel-Line, Centurion and generic steel doors, plus centre and adjustable hinges. Sectional hinges are numbered by position, and putting the wrong number in the wrong place is what makes a door bind.

Choosing the right hinge

Hinges on a sectional door are numbered 1 to 4 from the bottom up. The number sets how far the roller sits out from the door face, which changes as the panel moves from the vertical track into the curve. A No. 1 hinge in a No. 3 position pulls the panel too close to the track and the door will jam.

Centre hinges sit between panels along the middle of the door and take the flexing load rather than carrying a roller. They are the ones most likely to crack on a wide double door.

Adjustable hinges let you fine-tune how tightly the door seals against the jamb — useful on an older opening that has moved, or where the door has been catching wind on one side.

Cracked or elongated hinge plates are worth catching early. A hinge with a stretched roller hole lets the panel shift under load, which then wears the track and the roller as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

They set the roller's offset from the door face and correspond to a position on the door, numbered from the bottom panel upwards. Fitting the wrong number in a position changes how the panel meets the track and typically causes binding or a gap.
