Pelmet Flat 3.0
View part →
Flat and roller pelmets in 3.0m and 5.5m lengths, with Timberlook options. The pelmet is the cover across the top of the opening that hides the roller barrel or the track assembly and keeps weather off it.
Pelmets are sized to the opening: 3.0m suits a single door and 5.5m a double. Flat pelmets give a clean square finish, while roller pelmets are profiled to wrap the barrel of a roller door.
Beyond appearance, a pelmet keeps rain and windblown sand off the barrel and the curtain as it rolls up. On an exposed elevation that has a real effect on how long the door's moving parts last.
Timberlook versions match the woodgrain finish used on jambs and flashings, so the whole reveal reads as one trim rather than a mix.
A pelmet that has come loose or is rattling is usually just fixings that have worked free — worth attending to before wind gets behind it.
Measure the opening width. A 3.0m pelmet covers a standard single garage opening and 5.5m covers a double. If your opening falls between sizes, we can advise on the right cut.
A flat pelmet gives a square, boxed finish; a roller pelmet is profiled to follow the curve of a roller door barrel. Which one you need depends on the door type and how the barrel is mounted.
It is not structural, but it keeps rain and blown sand off the barrel and tidies the opening. On exposed elevations it measurably reduces wear on the curtain and bearings.
